Get ready for a lovely cruise to Albemarle County and a delicious meal with friends at Tavern on the James.  Here are the details: 

• Meet at 11:30 AM.     Behind the McDonald's at 11280 Patterson Avenue, Henrico, VA 

• We will meet and take roll and have a brief drivers’ meeting. (Remember to bring your radios and name tags).

• Depart at 12:00. Heading West on Patterson Avenue (Route 6).

• Heading to: 280 Valley Street, Scottsville, VA.  

• Tavern on the James is located at the junction of VA Route 6 and VA Route 20, just north of the James River. The drive to Scottsville will take about 1½ hours via (Route 6), and we will arrive around 1:30 pm.

• Be careful of the speed limits through the various towns and especially at the stop sign prior to turning into the restaurant as the police department is directly to the left.

• There is ample parking in the rear of the building by the pavilion that is used for their Farmer's Market. 

• This is a “rain or shine” event. If the weather is bad or you have more guests than seats in your car, then feel free to drive your OTC's (Other Than Corvettes).

• Menu is on their website. 

• After the meal, stroll to Scottsville’s nearby parks, trails, and shops.

As a reminder to all members to please bring/wear your name badge at the meeting.  This will help everyone get to know new members  and guests (and to remember those forgotten member names!)

Encouraging all CCR members to sign up by October 15th to join us for a beautiful fall drive on Saturday October 17th to Tim's Crabhouse on Lake Anna (Mineral, VA). We need to provide an accurate "day of" headcount to Tim's so, after October 15th if you decide to add or drop, please email me at sdickinson4@comcast.net and we'll make the appropriate adjustments to the attendee list.

Where and When - Meet in the Food Lion parking lot, 11272 Patterson

                               Avenue, Richmond, VA, just behind the McDonald's      9:30 AM

Driver Meeting - We'll discuss route, driving conditions, perform a quick

                           roll call and determine radio needs                                   9:45 AM

Cruise Departs to Tim's - Saddle up and hit the road                                10:00 AM

Arrive Lake Anna - Park and Dine at Tim's Crabhouse                                11:15 AM

Why are we leaving so early? Glad you asked! Tim's is a very popular seafood restaurant, especially on weekends. They would like to cordon off a section of

their parking lot just for our beautiful CCR Corvettes and prepare a separate seating section for us within the restaurant...but we need to arrive early before their "lunch crunch" crowd to enable that.

Everyone who attended last year had a wonderful time at Tim's. It is a very easy-going cruise with lots of curves, canopies and scenery. We'll head west on Patterson Avenue for about 12 miles to the intersection of Patterson Avenue and Route522. There, we'll take the "right fork" onto Route 522 which will take us through Mineral and onward to our destination. Total travel time is expected to be approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes (assuming we encounter no farm tractors on route!) to cover the 53-mile distance. be aware that much of Route 522 is two-lane with no passing. Accordingly, drivers should relax, breathe deeply and enjoy the sights.

Tim's Crabhouse in located north of Mineral at 200G Broadwalk Way, Mineral VA 23117, just off of Route 522. When we get to Mineral, we will turn right at the main traffic light, cross the railroad tracks, then left continuing North on Route 522 to Broadwalk Way on the right.

As always, bring your name tags and radios (if you have one).

National Museum of the Marine Corps

1775 Semper Fidelis Way, Triangle, VA

CCR last took this cruise to National Museum of the Marine Corps in 2019. Since then the museum has added new exhibits and we have added new members. The museum is free but you will have to go through security to enter. No food or drink is allowed with the exception of a sealed clear bottle of water. Food is available on site at the Devil Dog Dinner and the Tun Tavern.  Activities include world class, interactive exhibits, a laser-simulated rifle range, the Medal of Honor Theater and the Semper Fidelis Memorial Park. 

This is an easy cruise north on Route 1. We will meet behind the Chick-Fil-A on 10176 Brook Road (Rte.1) at 9:00 am and leave at 9:30 after a brief drivers meeting. We will arrive around 11:00 am.
