What are the winnings - the number of winners will be decided based on the number of participants and will be announced prior to leaving the start point.

Poker Run Rules - you can purchase either five cards ($20) or 7 card ($30) hands. Each drawn card(s) will be made from a full deck including 2 jokers. Two draws will be made at the start and finish for those purchasing a 7 card hand. No limit as to how many hands can be purchased. Drawn cards will be marked on your registration form. Stud poker rules apply for best hand. Half of all purchased money will be forwarded to CCR and the remaining half will be distributed to the winners

This time change is to make sure that there is no repeat of last years parking problem due to a Smithfield Event closing Main Street, 

• The current plan is to meet around 12:30pm
• in the shopping center directly across from Colonial Chevrolet truck lot on Route 10 in open shopping center lot area by the fire station
• The club will leave no later than 1:30 pm, which will allow plenty of time in case we are delayed, which has happen in the past events.
• Route 10 all the way

The restaurant will be expecting CCR to park across the street in Smithfield parking lot. Everyone will be on their own to return home when they choose. So put this on your calendar early.

Please RSVP online the CCR website Events, if you plan to attend as the exact count needs to be confirmed by May 17th. The manager is presently holding 25 seats.  This is a request from the Manager. Please don’t expect late exceptions. This restaurant is always busy and usually to capacity. as it is a popular place to come eat.

Also bring you club radios as traffic will be quite congested in certain areas

Sandston Community brings you the Sandston Celebration, Memorial Day 2025.

WE WILL MEET AT EAST HENRICO RESCUE ON HUNTSMAN ROAD ACROSS FROM THE BURGER KING AND LEWIS ROAD.  AFTER THE PARADE WE WITH EAT AT PORTABELLAS RISTORANTE IN THE NEW MARKET SQUARE SHOPPING CENTER, 2627 NEW MARKET ROAD HENRICO, VA. 23231 - 804-795-4144 .  CALL BUBBA CARR IF NEEDED 804-356-8731, WE WILL DECORATE CARS IN RED WHITE AND BLUE FOR MEMORAL DAY  BRING FLAGS.

CCR participants need to arrive early at 11:00 am to assemble for the parade which starts at 1:00 pm, May 26, 2025. We will meet at the East End Henrico Rescue Squad (5301 Huntsman Road, Henrico Virginia), which is the corner of Williamsburg Road (Rt 60) and Lewis Road. The Rescue Squad building is opposite Lewis Road from Burger King.

 

At 11:15 am we will head to our staging area where we will be lined up. We will have a Unit Number assign for all CCR.  Please, all entries must display this assigned number on the right-hand corner of your windshield (12 " high). Spray painted green is preferred on the windshield.  Please bring your CCR club flags and banners. Also bring your coolers and water. Also, we cannot throw anything, candy etc., from your car to the crowd.

 East End Henrico Rescue Squad (5301 Huntsman Road, Henrico Virginia), which is the corner of Williamsburg Road (Rt 60) and Lewis Road.

1 pm – Sandston Parade 
Starts on Williamsburg Road where it intersects with Beulah Road. Proceeds west and disbands at North Confederate Avenue.

2-4 pm – Block Party

Drivers,

 

Want to see if there is enough interest to do Road Atlanta again on June 3^rd and 4^th of 2025.  The cost will depend on the number of drivers who sign-up.  Below is a chart of what the cost would be per day and for both days depending on the number of drivers.

 

If you can let me know if you have an interest and if that interest is dependent on a certain cost/#of Drivers I can begin to plan and see if it makes sense to try to rent the track.  These cost are only for the track and the required liability and personal accident insurance required by the track.  It does not include lunch or a T-Shirt.

 

 

Please let me know by 12/31/24 if you are interested in going to Road Atlanta.

 

If we have enough interest I will send an email on January 2^nd, 2025 with the final details and ask everyone to make payment by 1/15/25.  If everyone who commits makes their payment by 1/25/25 then I will sign the contract with Road Atlanta.

Come on CCR Cruiser let's  go to Rocco's in Williamsburg VA with Larry and Robin this year. This has always been a great venue to travel by the club over the past few years.

The starting point, meeting place is no less than the Exxon Dairy Queen, located in New Market, Va., 3275 New Market Rd . The departure time is 11:30 am in order to arrive in Williamsburg by 2 pm.

The travel route has not been decided yet, but will be issued before the event date. It is recommended that you bring your club radio, a must is the Rocco's address in order not to get lost in old Williamsburg.

The menu is up online for your perusal. The menu is great and the food is great. Full menu will be available for CCR.

Mark your calendars to celebrate Independence Day with Henrico Recreation & Parks!

The event will feature live music, food trucks, and a kids’ zone. The Richmond Symphony is headlining the show with a laser light show finale. FREE Admission to Red, White & Lights at Meadow Farm Museum/Crump Park, 3400 Mountain Rd.

Understanding is they want Corvettes from each generation to show.

This CCR Cruiser Event is for the “adventurous CCR members”. Cruise early morning (restroom & coffee) (8:15 am meet) July 12, 2025. Depart at 8:30 am. Leave from the WAWA, Route 288 and Broad Street, 12564 West Broad Street, Henrico, VA, 23233, to the Blue Mountain Brewery, 9519 Critzer Shop Road, Afton VA, arrive no later 10:30 am.

Cruise I64 to exit 107, Crozet at then a short distance on Rt 250. About 1hr 45min travel depending on the traffic.  The left turn into the Brewery comes up very quick and there is a lot traffic on road going to Charlottesville. Be careful.

CCR Cruisers really enjoyed this event. Food is great, beer even better, service was great, and the view was spectacular. It's worth the early morning start time for this event. Last year we set inside as in the past. CCR will try to get inside seating again for the club. 

There are no reservations accepted, but an exception has been made by the manager regarding CCR. So please register online with the club website in order for an accurate count of members attending so CCR can provide the count to the Manager several days before July 12, 2025.

CRR has been in contact with manager to arrange the date and the date is set.. This way the staff that will be responsible for seat us will know in advance, so there will be no surprise when we do arrive. The restaurant opens at 11:00 am and you stay as long as you like.  I read somewhere this venue is one of the best in Virginia and most prosperous restaurant.

Directions & Meeting Place: 

We will gather at 10AM in the Publix parking lot at 1250 Staples Mill Road, Henrico 23060.  We'll sell 50/50 tickets there and pick a winner at the event with 50% to the winner and 50% to the club. A drivers meeting will be held at 10:30AM to review the route, etc. It's a great cruise through the Virginia piedmont into the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We will proceed north on US33 and travel the beautiful VA countryside to VA Route 22 west on into and through Louisa. We'll follow Route 22 to a right turn onto Saint John Road and then a left onto VA231 Gordonsville Road, and in 1.1 miles, Keswick Winery entrance will be on our left. We should arrive around 11:45AM.

4th CCR Cruise Trojan Grill

You are invited to share stories watch some various sports on their TV's and have late lunch at Trojan Grill, which is on Route 249 and next to New Kent High School.

Route Details:  We’ll meet at 11:00 am at the same place we met for the Captain Billy’s cruise, behind the Burger King, Chick Fil A at Atlee Station Road & Chamberlayne Road (Route 301).  We’ll be in the adjacent office building’s parking lot   After taking roll, having a brief drivers’ meeting, we will depart at 11:30, heading north on Route 301.

There are two left turns where we may become separated, but we have 10 miles on Old Church Road to get back together.  The first left turn is onto Pole Green Road from Rural Point Road, and the other is the left turn onto Mechanicsville Turnpike from Pole Green Road.  After we turn right onto Old Church Road from Mechanicsville Turnpike.

This is a “rain or shine” event.  If the weather is bad or you have more guests than seats in your car, then feel free to drive your OTCs (Other Than Corvettes).

Please register early so that we can provide the restaurant with a accurate head count.

4th Cruise to Trump Winery

Lunch & Great View

This is a great venue for afternoon cruise on the backroads to the Trump Winery. Forget your partisan and political views, leave them at home, come for an early morning start and enjoy spending your afternoon with your CCR friends. Light lunch and refreshment of your choice. a spectacular view of the surroundings mountains, and the vineyards.

Starting on Route 15 heading north is a great drive in your Corvette. The last legs of the drive will test your mountain driving skills. You may also want to bring your driving shoes and gloves to be prepared for the mountains. Some of the views belong on post cards. Afterward a leisurely drive back home. Send your pictures to Penny Johnson to post on the club website.

Check out their website before you say no! Thanks to Kirby, Trump’s manager has made an exception for CCR to have as many members come as possible, with some special seating arrangements in the main rotunda. The club may even have a special parking area, yet to be determined. So sign up now if you would like to go!!!

CCR members can go to the wine service bar and get whatever wine or food they want and pay their own way. Normally for a group reservation they require one form of payment for the group, but that will not apply to us.

Plan to meet at McDonald's, 11280 Patterson Ave., Richmond at 8:30 AM; drivers meeting 8:30 AM; depart at 8:45 AM. The route to be taken below takes about 1 hr, 20 minutes, so arrival at Trump approximately 11:00 AM (they open 11:00 AM).

CORVETTES AT CARLISLE 

AUGUST 2,2024 (Thursday) – AUGUST 24, 2025(Saturday)

Mike and Peggy Todd will again this year lead a caravan on Thursday August 22^nd to Carlisle PA. for the annual CORVETTES AT CARLISLE.  We will meet at the Exxon Station on Rte. 522 just north of the I-64/Rte 522 interchange (Gum Spring, Exit 159) at 9:30 AM, departing at 9:45 AM. As we have in the past, we will stop for lunch in Culpeper at “It’s about Thyme” restaurant. After lunch we will continue on Rt 522 to Winchester to I-81 north to Carlisle Fair Grounds.

CORVETTES AT CARLISLE

Corvettes at Carlisle is the largest and most fun-filled Corvette car show in the world.  The annual Corvettes at Carlisle event features nearly 3,000 Corvettes representing all generations of America’s classic sports car. Guests flock to Carlisle for this event - an event that was "name dropped" on the Jimmy Kimmel Live TV show in December of 2018.
