Glen Allen Day Parade
It’s been about 10 years since CCR participated in this event. As a matter of fact, in 2002, CCR proudly had 36 Corvettes in this parade. Car decorations are optional, but since the Corvette is America’s Sports Car, we’ve always decorated our Vettes in patriotic red, white and blue (flags, balloons, big ribbons for the hood, etc.) Many stores may still have July 4th items you could use, but in a pinch, head to your nearest Party City.
We will meet that morning at my house at about 8:00 AM and leave for staging at 8:30 AM to decorate our cars. The parade steps off at 9:30 a.m. and the route is very short. You could be heading back home by 11 a.m. or you could stay on site and enjoy the festival.
I need at least 15 Vettes—or I won’t register us for the parade. So, if you are interested in participating, sign up at the July meeting or call me (346-5266, cell 640-9338).
